Columbus police are investigating a grand larceny of Smith Landscaping property that occurred in the 400 block of Seventh Avenue North Tuesday morning.
According to Interim Police Chief Selvain McQueen, the incident occurred at around 7:30 a.m. Four weed eaters, four leaf blowers and a white 2006 GMC pickup truck were stolen, McQueen said.
“The weed eaters and leaf blowers are valued at $2,800 and $13,500 for the truck,” McQueen said. “The lock had been cut on the front gate, and they went in the gate and stole the stuff.”
Smith Landscaping is located at 604 18th Ave. N., but the company uses fenced-in land located behind The Little Dooey on Highway 45 North.
“That”s where the truck was parked,” McQueen said.
