Jacket job fair set for Thursday
Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District will host its annual Jacket Job Fair from 5 p.m. until 7 Thursday at Partnership Middle School. The job fair is a chance for community members and job seekers from across the area to learn about available employment opportunities with the district, talk with administrators and departmental leadership and submit resumes. Candidates for teaching positions for the 2026-2027 academic year in all elementary and secondary subject areas are invited to attend. SOCSD is also seeking qualified and motivated candidates for positions outside the classroom, such as support staff, food service, custodial and bus drivers.
Locals students among Outstanding Teacher Intern Award recipients
Mississippi State University’s College of Education is honoring seven graduates for their exceptional work as teacher interns in Mississippi and Florida school districts.
The recipients of the Outstanding Teacher Intern Award were nominated for exceeding expectations while completing internships at public schools in the Magnolia State and Navarre, Florida. The honorees demonstrated exemplary professionalism, performance and a high level of commitment to the teaching profession.
Recipients include:
Sara Cox, a fall 2025 secondary education graduate from Starkville, who taught in Mississippi’s Choctaw County School District.
Jalencia Jones, a fall 2025 special education graduate from Kiln, who taught in Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District.
Neely Wells, a fall 2025 secondary education graduate from Starkville, who also taught in SOCSD.
