JACKSON – Isabella Allison, a recent graduate of New Hope High School, is one of 11 Mississippi students selected to receive a scholarship from the Mississippi Association of School Superintendents.
The Bounds Scholarship for Excellence, named for veteran educator Walter S. Bounds, recognizes high-achieving students who demonstrate outstanding leadership, community service and involvement in extracurricular activities.
Allison was named valedictorian of her class, earning a 4.18 GPA and excelling in 12 advanced academic courses and six dual enrolled classes.
At New Hope, she participated in a variety of clubs and organizations, including student council, Beta Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and the Spanish Honor Society, among others. She was also named senior homecoming maid, Miss New Hope, most distinguished and the Rotary Club of Columbus’ overall outstanding senior.
Allison plans to major in biological sciences with a pre-optometry focus at Mississippi State University.
