A domestic dispute landed a Caledonia couple behind bars Wednesday night.
Lowndes County Sheriff’s Deputy Ivan Bryan and Sgt. Tony Perkins responded to a call at 777 Dodson Road around 8:30 p.m. regarding a possible stabbing.
When officers arrived, Joe Hill told them he was in bed when his wife, Deborah Hill, began an argument with him. He admitted he threw a plastic liquor bottle at her, hitting her in the head with the bottle. She then threw a knife at him, cutting his calf in the process.
“Joe Hill refused to go to the hospital,” LCSO Chief Deputy Mark Miley said. “He was bleeding from a cut on his left calf. Since he admitted to hitting her with a bottle and she admitted to throwing a knife at him, they were both arrested.”
Deborah Hill, 56, was charged with aggravated assault, a felony, and domestic violence, a misdemeanor. Joe Hill was charged with domestic violence. The couple was taken to the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center in separate vehicles.
She was released the same night on a $5,000 bond, and he was released on a $750 bond.
Also Wednesday night, the Columbus Police Department arrested Cedric Ontavius Harris, 47, of 2205 Hughes Lane, and charged him with public drunkenness.
