You spoke, and we listened.
Today’s Dispatch is the last Saturday edition we will publish. Starting this week, The Dispatch will resume printing a Monday afternoon edition of the paper and will discontinue the Saturday morning edition.
The Commercial Dispatch became a Sunday through Friday daily newspaper on Easter morning in 1926. On July 2, 2011, the Dispatch printed its first Saturday morning edition and ceased publication of the Monday paper.
As Monday’s paper rolls off the press this week, we return to an 85-year tradition, providing the local news, sports and community events you’ve come to expect, Sunday through Friday.
“Our readers have overwhelmingly voiced their preference for the Monday paper,” Dispatch Operations Manager Peter Imes said Friday afternoon. “Last week, a former Dispatch employee told me that my grandfather most likely rolled over in his grave when we dropped the Monday paper. If that’s the case, I hope he is resting comfortably once again.”
