The Columbus Police Department is investigating a Friday night armed robbery at the Family Dollar and Dollar Tree on Tuscaloosa Road.
CPD Public Information Officer Bryan Moore told The Dispatch a Black male with dreads wearing a baseball cap and face mask pulled a handgun from his pocket at the register. He took $500 and the cashier’s phone, which was later found discarded near the scene. There were no injuries, Moore said.
The department is still investigating the incident, Moore said, and no arrests have been made.
