A couple were arrested at their residence Tuesday night after agents with the Columbus-Lowndes Metro Narcotics Unit discovered cocaine and a handgun inside their Sand Road home.
Damion Antonio Davis, 25, of 307 Sand Road, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
Sylvia Shalay Tate, 19, of 307 Sand Road, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.
Agents recovered a Jennings .45 handgun, an eighth of an ounce of cocaine, commonly called an “eight-ball” and worth an estimated $300 in street value, and approximately $1100 in cash.
Both Davis and Tate are still in custody at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center.
The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Department Special Response Team assisted with the search.
