Job seekers of all ages will have the opportunity to learn about and apply for a range of jobs with area businesses at the Governor’s Job Fair, hosted at East Mississippi Community College’s Communiversity in West Lowndes County Tuesday.
Companies in attendance will include Aurora Flight Sciences, Atmos Energy, Tennessee Valley Authority and Yokohama Tire Manufacturing, as well as 32 other companies and state agencies looking to fill positions.
Companies at the event will be offering jobs ranging from food service workers, pipefitters, engineers, IT technicians, material handlers, resident nurses, deckhands and others.
The Mississippi Department of Employment Security, in conjunction with EMCC and the Governor’s Job Fair Network, will be hosting the event; any person interested in applying for jobs at the event can do so at no cost.
“This is a free service provided to all job seekers who are looking for a job, a better job, or interested in a change in career,” said Gov. Tate Reeves. “As a major unit of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security (MDES), The Governor’s Job Fair Network provides opportunities for both employers and job seekers across the state by connecting in their own cities, towns, and communities.”
For the jobs being applied for, some positions will be filled on the day and some will be for jobs available in the future.
Employers interested in applying to participate in the fair can do so through the Governor’s Job Fair Network website.
