A professor at Mississippi University for Women advanced on the quiz show “Jeopardy!” today, winning $27,201 on the popular syndicated television show after answering a question about the tiny European monarchy.
Dr. Nora Corrigan, a MUW English professor, was leading with $14,200 into Final Jeopardy, and was able to give the question to the final answer: “One of the two largely German speaking monarchies in the world, they are about 250 miles apart.”
Her correct question: “What is Luxembourg?” (The other country is Lichtenstein.)
The win means Corrigan returns tomorrow. The show airs at 11 a.m. on WLOV-TV.
Corrigan was called by “Jeopardy” producers in February and flew to Los Angeles for the taping of the show in March.
