The Columbus school board breezed through a half-hour meeting Monday that consisted largely of photo opportunities.
The board was recognized by Vice Mayor and Ward 6 Councilman Bill Gavin with a city proclamation marking Feb. 14-20 as School Board Recognition Week.
They also recognized this year”s reading fair winners.
In other matters, the board approved an agreement between the district and Baptist Memorial Hospital -Golden Triangle to provide physical therapy services, including evaluations and occupational therapy, to special education students at a rate of $80 per treatment.
The board also agreed to request a temporary teaching certification for Thomas Brown, Jobs for Mississippi job specialist at Columbus High School, and approved the winning bid for the district”s IP phone system to Synergetics for $132,264.50.
