A new glossy magazine featuring Golden Triangle faces and places hits local retailers, newsstands and mailboxes today.
Catfish Alley, a quarterly magazine of Southern culture — “The South As We See It,” is available for $4.95 at select retailers and by subscription. The new magazine, with fashion, travel, features on local people, and more, is also being direct-mailed to select households, and is available by subscription.
“We”re all delighted by the magazine, how it turned out … delighted and amazed,” said Catfish Alley Publisher Birney Imes. “We”re looking at it like a newborn child; it”s beautiful.”
The first issue features a cover story on Leslie Frazier, the Columbus native who last year was named head coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Other features include a tour of Mike and Betty Waters” amazing Columbus home; an artist portfolio of work by Nettleton”s Paul Thorn; a spring fashion shoot featuring local models; and a travel story on Meridian.
Standing features of the magazine include photo essays, restaurant reviews and listings; “Social Call” photos of local people and events; book reviews; local gifts; and more.
The magazine is available for $4.95 at local businesses including The Dispatch office, Reed”s, Lighting Unlimited, Front Door/Back Door, Bella, Kudoz Coffee Shop, Tennessee Williams Welcome Center, and Book Mart in Starkville. Annual subscriptions are also available for $9.50.

Catfish Alley is a high quality magazine similar in format and content to Mississippi Magazine and Delta Magazine. The quarterly magazine will publish richly illustrated features on the people, food, art and music that makes our part of the South so distinctive.
My neighbor received a copy in the mail but I didn”t. Can I get one for free?
Our magazine printer mails sample copies of the magazine to a computer generated mailing list. We don”t mail any sample copies from here. They are only doing this for a limited amount of time.
How much is a subscription?
$9.50 for four issues.
How do I subscribe?

Can I buy just one copy?
Yes. Single copies are available in stores throughout the Golden Triangle. A list of those stores is available at catfishalleymag.com.
