VERONA – A 6-to-8-month-old cat may rethink a fast-food diet after surviving a fall into a deep fryer at a restaurant in Verona.
Lianne Sartin, veterinarian technician at the All Animal Hospital in Tupelo, tells the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that the black-and-white stray suffered third-degree burns to his paws and damage to his buttocks Sunday at the Hardee”s restaurant.
Sartin says cat, now named Hardee, is on pain medication and antibiotics.
The newspaper says according to police dispatcher, employees at Hardee”s were trying to catch the cat after it was discovered in the building. It fell into the deep fryer during the pursuit.
