Local law enforcement agencies arrested six suspects for allegedly driving under the influence over the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
Starkville Police Department made one DUI arrest out of the 14 arrests made from Thursday to Sunday and issued 59 traffic citations, SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch.
Sheriff Eddie Hawkins said the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office made 14 arrests during the weekend, three of which were for driving under the influence. Deputies also issued 110 citations from Thursday to Sunday.
Joey Berry of the records division for the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office said deputies made two DUI arrests and made 50 arrests between Thursday and Sunday. OCSO did not provide the number of traffic citations made during the enforcement period.
Columbus Police Department and Mississippi Highway Patrol did not provide requested information to The Dispatch before press time Tuesday.
