Absentee ballots for the June 1, 2010, Republican primary election are now available in Lowndes County Circuit Clerk Haley Salazar”s office at the Lowndes County Courthouse.
In addition to normal business hours, of 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, the circuit clerk”s office will be open Saturday, May 22, and Saturday, May 29, from 8 a.m.-noon for absentee voting.
The deadline for voting by absentee inside the circuit clerk”s office is Saturday, May 29, at noon. Absentee ballots mailed to electors must be returned by mail to the circuit clerk on or before May 31 for the ballot to be counted. Salazar also reminds voters May 31 is a legal holiday.
Republicans Alan Nunnelee, Angela McGlowan and Henry Ross will face off to see who will compete against Democrat and incumbent District 1 Rep. Travis Childers in the November election.
All 22 Lowndes County voting precincts will be open for the June 1 primary election.
