An Aberdeen man died in a car crash Thursday on Highway 45 in Monroe County.
Stephen Dale Pruitt, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck, which was one mile north of the Monroe/Lowndes County line near Hamilton, according to Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley.
Pruitt was a passenger in a 2017 Ford Fusion which overturned down an embankment when the driver lost control at about 7:12 p.m.
Neither the driver nor Pruitt was wearing a seat belt, Gurley said. The driver was not injured.
Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
