Ellen Hartman, a Starkville native and CEO of Atlanta-based Hartman Public Relations, was inducted to the Georgia Restaurant Association Hall of Fame for 2022 at the organization’s GRACE Awards Gala on Sept. 27 in Atlanta.
The award recognizes individuals who exhibit the highest standard of excellence and professionalism in all aspects of the industry and have made significant contributions to the state’s restaurant industry and the GRA.
Hartman has more than 45 years of experience building strategic communications campaigns for some of the world’s most well-known brands, such as Coca-Cola, Popeyes, Arby’s, Smokey Bones, Miller’s Ale House, Concessions International, Golden Corral, Seattle’s Best Coffee and Kroger.
She attended Mississippi State University but graduated from the University of Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. Her first job out of school was in the public information office at MSU and she currently serves on several state and national boards, including the Georgia State University’s School of Hospitality, the International Women’s Forum, the Multicultural Foodservice Hospitality Alliance and the Public Relations Society of America at its Georgia chapter, where she served as its 2001 president.
