Starkville police have arrested two men in connection with a Dec. 7 shooting on Reed Ridge Circle that sent one person to the hospital.
Roderiques Lockett, 24, and John King Jr., 35, have both been charged with armed robbery and attempted murder, according to a Starkville Police Department press release. Lockett was arrested Thursday and King arrested Monday.
The shooting occurred outside a residence before 5 a.m., SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady told The Dispatch. He declined to say if the suspects and the victim knew each other.
Lovelady said the victim is still receiving medical treatment. Medical authorities could not be reached for additional information about the victim’s injuries by press time.
The shooting is still under investigation and more arrests are likely, the press release states.
Lockett and King are both being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail. Lockett had not received a bond for either charge as of this morning, and King’s bond amounts are $500,000 for the attempted murder charge and $250,000 for the armed robbery charge.
