We serve a God who is not only powerful but incredibly wise. No matter what difficulties we face, He knows the outcome and has the power to help us get through it. Knowing this, we can let go of everything we’re going through to Him and “be still and know that He’s God.” “How great is our Lord! His power is absolute! His understanding is beyond comprehension!” (Psalm 147:5, NLT)
Life can sometimes feel unfair, and we might question why bad things happen to righteous people. Nevertheless, we should not let the prospering and success of the wicked discourage us. God is saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” He has not forgotten about us; He’s going to reward those who faithfully follow His ways. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:7, NIV)
There is so much chaos going on in the world today. If it’s not one thing, it’s another. However, God is saying we don’t have to be afraid, just “be still and know that I am God.” He will give us peace in the midst of everything happening around us. His peace is unlike anything we can find in our daily lives. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27, KJV)
Sometimes our battles make us feel trapped and helpless. In times like these, God is saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” He’s always prepared to fight on our behalf. All we have to do is remain calm and let Him fight our battles for us. It’s comforting to know that God is always ready to defend us against the battles we face in life. Holding our peace isn’t about staying silent or doing nothing; it’s about having faith that God is at work fighting for us. “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” (Exodus 14:14, NIV)
We often rush forward, seeking answers or solutions, when God is saying, “Be still and know that I am God.” He wants us to take a moment and observe the great work He’s doing in our lives. By watching Him work, we open ourselves to witness miracles, life changes and answered prayers unfold right before our eyes. “Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the Lord will do before your eyes.” (1 Samuel 12:16, KJV)
So be encouraged today, and always remember God is saying to us today, “Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.” (Psalm 46:10, KJV)
