All of us at some point in life feel like God has forsaken us; especially when we have been in our circumstances for a long time. Although we can’t see any changes right now, God has not forsaken us. He is working behind the scenes in ways we cannot yet see or understand. “For the Lord will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you his people.” (1 Samuel 12:22) KJV
Life is filled with uncertainties, difficulties, and challenges. At times, we may find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, forsaken and lost. In times like these, we can’t fear, we have to be strong and know God has not forsaken us. “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.” (Deuteronomy 31:6) KJV
Even when our enemies try to stand up against us, they can’t defeat us because God assures us He has not forsaken us. “No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Joshua 1:5) NIV
Have you been forsaken by a family member you relied on the most? If so, you can find comfort knowing your family may forsake you but God has not forsaken you. He will always be there to take care of you. “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.” (Psalm 27:10) KJV
Sometimes when we cry out to God in prayer, we don’t hear a response. We seek, but God’s voice is silent, and we wonder where God is or even if He’s there at all. In moments such as these, we have to keep trusting God; though it feels like He is silent He has not forsaken us. “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” (Psalm 9:10) KJV
When we endure intense suffering or pain, it might seem as though God is distant, leaving us feeling alone and forsaken. Even Jesus in his moment of suffering on the cross felt forsaken, but that did not mean God had forsaken Him. We can find reassurance that God is a merciful God and He has not forsaken us. “Nevertheless for thy great mercies’ sake thou didst not utterly consume them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.” (Nehemiah 9:31) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: no matter what we go through, God will never forsake us. “For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” (Hebrews 13:5) KJV
