■ Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office National Night Out: The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office will be celebrating the National Night Out at the New Hope Community Center at 381 Stadium Rd. and Kingdom Vision Church at 2467 S. Frontage Rd. from 6-8 p.m. There will be free hamburgers, hot dogs and other giveaways.
■ Columbus National Night Out: Block parties will be happening at the Townsend Community Center, the East Columbus Community Center, Northaven Woods Community Center, Sandfield Community Center and Sim Scott Community Center from 6-8 p.m. City department heads and other officials will be visiting each venue to answer questions and concerns from the community.

■ Possumtown Book Festival: Friendly City Books and the Friendly City Books Community Connection, a special project of the CREATE Foundation, will be bringing a one day book festival to Columbus. The festival will be at the Columbus Arts Council’s Rosenzweig Arts Center.

■ Annual Campaign Kick Off: United Way of the Golden Triangle Region is hosting its $50K Your Way raffle and annual campaign kick-off at Munson and Brothers from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Raffle winners will be announced. There will also be food trucks, live music and inflatable jumpers for children.
