■ The Trouble Notes: Muddy Water Sports Bar is hosting an outdoor event benefiting Camp Rising Sun. The Trouble Notes will be performing along with special guest Allie Benton. There will be a $20 donation fee to enter, or $5 for children under 10 years old.

■ Cornerstone Sports Complex Trunk or Treat: Cornerstone Sports Complex is hosting a trunk or treat from 5:30-7:30 p.m. There will be a trunk decorating contest, trick or treating, pumpkin painting, bounce houses and more.

■ Boo Parade: First Methodist Early Learning Center and St. Paul’s Episopal School will be holding a boo parade through downtown Columbus at 10 a.m.
■ Art ‘N Antiques Opening Reception: The Columbus Convention and Visitors Bureau is hosting the annual art and antique show at the Rosenzweig Arts Center. There will be an opening reception from 5:30-7:30 p.m., where attendees are encouraged to dress in costumes from the Victorian Mourning period. Following the reception, there will be a Victorian Mourning party at the Lee Home from 7:30-9:30 p.m.

■ Open House: Main Street Columbus will be hosting its Downtown Christmas Open House Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. Participating businesses will offer refreshments, holiday items and specials during this festive weekend of shopping.

■ Under the Oaks: The Columbus Arts Council and The W are co-hosting this Burns Bottom arts festival celebrating artists of all kinds. The event, free and open to the public, will take place at the MUW campus from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In addition to artisan vendors, the festival will feature food and live music.

■ With Thanksgiving: The Starkville-MSU Symphony and the Starkville Community Chorus perform together in a concert anticipating the Thanksgiving holiday featuring works such as Copland’s The Promise of Living, Rutter’s For the Beauty of the Earth and Willberg’s arrangement of Simple Gifts. The concert begins at 2 p.m. at Bettersworth Auditorium.

■ Collage Dance: Collage Dance will be performing a high-energy ballet that pairs blues music from the likes of Muddy Waters, B.B. King and Koko Taylor with classical ballet as part of the Mississippi State Lyceum Series. The performance will be at 7 p.m. at Bettersworth Auditorium in Lee Hall. ■ Holiday Farmer’s Market: The Hitching Lot Farmers Market is hosting its 17th annual holiday market from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Second Street and Second Avenue North in downtown Columbus.

■ Starkville Christmas Parade: The Starkville Main Street Association will host its annual Christmas Parade starting at 6 p.m. on Main Street. This year’s Grand Marshal is former Major League Baseball pitcher Roy Oswalt. The theme is “Christmas Royale.”
Tuesday, Dec. 3
■ Columbus Christmas Parade: The Main Street Columbus Christmas Parade will once again be rolling through the city at 7 p.m. This year’s grand marshal is music educator Dawn Barham. The theme is “A Merry Musical Christmas.”
