A little friendly competition, a lot of teamwork, and a big heart for the community came together Oct. 10, as 104 golfers and a dedicated group of volunteers gathered at Elm Lake Golf Course for the Columbus Mill’s annual charity golf tournament. The event combined a perfect day outdoors with an even greater purpose – supporting the United Way of the Golden Triangle Region.

“At the Columbus Mill, we cannot succeed if our communities do not succeed,” said Steve Rogers, mill manager. “We’re proud to champion the efforts of United Way of the Golden Triangle. Their work directly impacts many of our neighbors, friends, and even coworkers, and we’re honored to play a part in helping build a stronger future for families in our region.”

Thanks to the generosity of sponsors and participants, nearly $63,000 was raised, and with a 60% company match, the total donation reached an outstanding $100,000. These funds will help United Way continue its mission to improve lives, strengthen communities, and create lasting change across the seven counties it serves.

Now in its seventh consecutive year, the tournament has become a proud tradition – one that continues to grow in both participation and impact. “Each year, we’ve been able to exceed the previous year’s fundraising totals,” shared Kellum Hawk, Columbus Mill communications and public affairs manager. “Since 2019, the tournament has raised more than $500,000 to advance the work of United Way.”
