Purchase from a local entrepreneur during this holiday season! The Hitching Lot Farmer’s Market Advisory Board and Main Street Columbus announce the 2024 “Holiday Farmers’ Market,” which will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 23.
As in the past, the Holiday Farmers’ Market will offer an opportunity to purchase locally homegrown, homemade, and handcrafted holiday food and gifts.
Attendees can support local artisans and makers while having fun with friends, feeling the holiday spirit, and delighting everyone on their shopping lists with unique gifts. Of course, shoppers may be unable to resist buying something for themselves as well. After shoppers leave the market, more fabulous shopping opportunities await in downtown Columbus.
The market will again include the “Holiday Cruise-In” beginning at 8 a.m., located on Third Street North adjacent to the farmers’ market.
Sponsored by the Southern Cruisers Car Club of Mississippi, these classic vehicles will add a great touch to the traditional market.
Again this year, the market will offer a donation box at the Information Booth, to help local organizations which are in need of items to assist underprivileged citizens in our community. Drop items at the Information Booth at the entrance of the covered pavilion. Acceptable items are unopened canned goods, non-perishable food items and toiletries. Cash donations will also be accepted.
Don’t miss food trucks, holiday music from Cumulus Broadcasting and lots of locally-made products. Bring family and friends and enjoy this annual community event.
“The Holiday Market is the perfect time to get those last-minute goodies just in time for your Thanksgiving feast and to get a start on holiday shopping,” Barbara Bigelow, executive director of Main Street Columbus, said. “The hours for the market provide shoppers time to browse and locate that unique item.”
Chelsea Best, market coordinator, added, “It appears that this holiday market will be the biggest and best one yet, with over 80 vendors on hand with a variety of produce, treats, holiday food, gifts, and one-of-a-kind crafts. This will be your last chance to experience the Hitching Lot Farmers’ Market until next May so don’t miss out.”
