A two-vehicle wreck on Highway 45 North Friday evening resulted in one person being transported to the hospital.
The incident happened around 5:15 p.m. in the southbound lane near Leigh Mall. It involved a 2012 silver Hyundai Elantra and a 2001 black Dodge Dakota truck.
Mary Moseley, 53, of Adams, Tenn., was driving the Elantra and she was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle with unknown injuries. Daniel King Jr., 23, of Columbus, was the driver of the Dakota truck. He was uninjured.
According to King Jr., he was attempting to turn off of 14th Avenue North and onto the highway.
He said he was being cautious because he could not see the left lane, but a vehicle in the right lane waved him to make the turn. As he pulled out in his truck, Moseley was heading south on the highway in her Elantra and the two vehicles then collided.
Interim Columbus Police Chief Selvain McQueen said King Jr. was at fault for pulling out in front of Moseley.
