Trifecta Development Group in Brandon just purchased approximately 2.5 acres on the corner of Lafayette and Highway 182 block in Starkville.
With nearly 80% of the architectural plans complete, Trifecta Development Group partners Tye Densford and Alex Alexander confirmed plans to construct two buildings, one with 12 condominium units and one with 24. Combined, the first floor of both buildings will include approximately 16,000 square feet of commercial space to include businesses like a restaurant, coffee shop, boutique and more.
“It’s a little bit of a homecoming for us,” Densford said, with three people working on the property who attended Mississippi State University. “I spent a lot of my life, five years, in Starkville. … We are looking at several months from breaking ground, but hopefully by this time next year, we’ll have a big, red ribbon and some scissors.”
Densford and Alexander said they have worked extensively with the city and Starkville Main Street throughout this process. The condos will be a combination of one and two-bedroom units. This is Phase 1 of the development’s project, with plans to expand.
“We like to consider ourselves local,” Densford said. “The goal is to bring some permanent and gameday residences (to Starkville).”
Also in town, Starkville Tech Pros opened earlier this year. The tech repair company offers local computer and Wi-Fi help, virus cleanup and more. Serving the Starkville, Tupelo, West Point and Columbus areas, Starkville Tech Pros is hosting a grand opening special for this month only with free diagnostics on any devices and 15% off all repairs for MSU students. Over in West Point, a new cat boarding facility is in the works.
Beth Burdine is hoping to bring Cat’s Pajamas Boarding to the area. She hasn’t finalized a location yet, but it’s already in the works.
“I’ve noticed with my own cats that it is so hard to make arrangements for them when we leave town,” Burdine said. “… My goal for The Cat’s Pajamas is to create a place that is quiet and comfortable and just for cats.”
Each cat kennel will be seven feet tall with climbing shelves, a window and social interactions. Each cat must be vaccinated with up-to-date medical records from a veterinarian. Burdine doesn’t have an opening date yet, but hopes to open in September.
Now it’s time to hop on over to Columbus. Literally.
Main Street Columbus is hosting photos with the Easter Bunny 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at Leadership Plaza, on the corner of College and Fifth Street. Remember to bring your camera for free photos with the guest of honor!
Also in Columbus, Southern Kneads has a new location.
Southern Kneads opened in 2020 on Highway 45 and has now moved to 524 Alabama St., Suite B. Owner Markey Wright-Dillard announced the new location on social media this month.
“Things are still coming together inside the storefront, and inventory will be arriving over the next few months, so please pardon the craziness as everything finds its place,” she posted on Facebook. “My biggest priority was making sure I could continue taking care of my clients without a long gap during the transition, and I’m so thankful that I’ve been able to do just that.”
Wright-Dillard specializes in Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone and prenatal massages.
