There are so many different kinds of seasons we go through in life and these are just a few:
The Waiting Season — We all experience seasons of waiting on God, and it’s not an easy thing for us to do. At times we get frustrated and impatient in our waiting because we want things to happen in our own timing. That’s why God is teaching us patience, to wait on Him regardless of how long it takes Him to move on our behalf. For His timing is always best for us and right on time. “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14) KJV
The season of mourning — Out of all the seasons of life, this is the most painful. When we mourn, a heaviness comes over us and it feels like the pain we’re going through will never pass. Nevertheless, we can take comfort in knowing that God can turn our mourning to joy. “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.” (Psalm 30:11) NLT
The testing and trial season — In this season we will have to go through a lot of suffering. However, God is taking us through this to grow our faith, produce perseverance and build our character. This will help us get through the affliction and hardship we’re faced with and find hope in God in the midst of our trials. “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4) KJV
The Dry Season — When going through this season it feels like God is distant, silent and like He has withdrawn His presence from us. Despite how far God feels to us, He’s there and He hears us when we can’t hear Him. “In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.” (2 Samuel 22:7) KJV
The blessing season — This is the season where God’s blessings start coming to us from every direction. It can be an unexpected check in mail, a promotion on our job or a chance friendly encounter with someone. “Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.” (Deuteronomy 28:6) KJV
So be encouraged today and always remember: No matter what season we’re in right now, it will not last forever. “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” (Ecclesiastes 3:1) KJV
