Former Columbus Municipal School Superintendent Martha Liddell’s termination hearing has been rescheduled for the second time.
“What was it like growing up in Mississippi?” This is a question heard many times in the Magnolia State — even by those who didn’t grow up here. Or else, “Now tell me the truth — what was it really like?”
It quickly became apparent why Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., chose to ride with Wil Colom rather than go to New Hope alone Wednesday.
Even with the address in hand and a rough idea of what he would find on Lauren Road, Wicker still might have driven past his destination, assuming the tidy houses on the pine-strewn lot were an ordinary subdivision.
Sometimes the answer comes before the question is fully formed. Just ask Wil Colom. Eight years ago, the lawyer/businessman/entrepreneur happened to be standing on the Serengeti Plain in northern Tanzania in the presence of a Maasai warrior when he heard music.
