Ironically, it was the lack of a Saturday edition that caused our change from The Commercial Dispatch to the Tuscaloosa News about 1972. My family always had a strong tie to Columbus probably since the town was founded when the rail -road came through.

Dispatch launches Saturday edition this weekend
This Saturday, The Dispatch will launch its first edition of The Saturday Dispatch, which will include up-to-date local sports, community events and — back by popular demand — a TV guide.
The Dispatch currently publishes Monday-Friday, and on Sunday. Starting in July, the paper will discontinue its Monday print edition.
