That theme was emphasized repeatedly during his all-day Wednesday campus meetings with community leaders, deans, department heads, faculty, staff, students, alumni and anyone interested in the future of Columbus’ historic institution of higher learning.
Our View: Help Wanted
We are a community of interims. Columbus has an interim police chief, university president and school superintendent. Starkville also has an interim superintendent of education. Today, we expect Mississippi University for Women to be the first of these ships to name a full-time captain.
Prospective MUW president says university’s mission should expand, not change
“This institution is not going to close. This institution is not going to merge,” Dr. James Borsig told a group of civic leaders about Mississippi University for Women this morning.
Borsig, the preferred choice to be the next president of MUW, spoke those words at a breakfast meeting, the first of a gauntlet of campus gatherings he will attend today.
