Redden beat his wife, Ginger Redden, with a belt, jabbed her with a golf club, then kicked her as she collapsed on the floor. Then he climbed on top of her and began choking her with his bare hands. When Ginger Redden broke free from his choke hold, he told her he would kill her if she left him.
Senate approves anti-violence act
By a robust bipartisan majority, the Senate voted Tuesday to renew the Violence Against Women Act with new assurances that gays and lesbians, immigrants and Native American women will have equal access to the act’s anti-domestic violence programs.
