Mississippi State signee Aaron Downs had a pair of home runs as the Heritage Academy baseball team beat Oak Hill Academy 11-1 in five innings on Monday in Columbus.
Downs had a three-run home run to put the Patriots on the board in the first inning and later had a solo shot to make it an 8-0 ballgame.
Mitchell Woodard pitched a no-hitter for the Pats.
Manning Huffman drove in Oak Hill’s only run in the fifth.
Heritage Academy will host Starkville Academy for a doubleheader at 4 p.m. Tuesday.
Oak Hill will host Winona Christian on Tuesday.

New Hope 11, Starkville 1, five innings
STARKVILLE — The New Hope softball team run-ruled Starkville High School 11-1 on Monday in Starkville.
Lailah Henderson led the Trojans with two RBIs. She, Emma O’Bryant and Taylor Brownlee each had two hits for New Hope.
Adi Dueitt struck out two in a five-inning complete game.
New Hope will host Columbus on Tuesday.
Starkville will play at South Panola on April 13.
