East Mississippi Community College will be starting its football season two weeks later than normal and playing just eight regular-season games this year, the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges announced Wednesday.
The MACC delayed the start of the fall season from Aug. 27 to Sept. 10 and reduced its regular-season slate from nine games to eight as a consequence of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
The state will keep its typical four-team playoff schedule, with the MACC championship game set for Nov. 14.
EMCC, which went 6-4 last season, has not yet announced its 2020 schedule.
