OCEAN SPRINGS — The New Hope baseball team routed North Pike 13-1 on Wednesday in the Battle of the Beach tournament at St. Martin High School in Ocean Springs.
Zac Butler drove in four runs for the Trojans (5-3), and Kameron Harcrow had three RBIs.
Dawson Lofton struck out five in three innings on the mound for New Hope.
The Trojans host West Point at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Starkville 9, St. Joseph 3
LONG BEACH — Starkville High School beat St. Joseph Catholic 9-3 on Wednesday in the Battle of the Beach tournament at Long Beach High School.
Jackson Owen drove in four runs for the Yellow Jackets (7-4), and Riley Dawkins had two RBIs. Hayes Davis led the team with three hits.
Jack Perry struck out six batters in four innings, and Owen struck out three in two innings.
Starkville scored three runs in the second inning and five in the third.
The Jackets will host Germantown at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Starkville.
Senatobia 3, Starkville Academy 0
GULFPORT — Starkville Academy was shut out 3-0 by Senatobia in six innings Wednesday in the Battle of the Beach tournament at West Harrison High School.
Cooper McNeel had two hits for the Volunteers, who had six hits. Despite the win, Senatobia had just two.
Ayden Alsobrooks struck out five in four innings for Starkville Academy.
The Vols (8-2) play St. Aloysius at noon Thursday at St. Martin.
West Point 4, Mantachie 2
SALTILLO — West Point beat Mantachie 4-2 in two and a half innings on Wednesday at the Saltillo Tournament.
Baker Watson, Drew Wright and Jordan Fitzpatrick all drove in runs for the Green Wave. Wright and John Austin Ricks led the team with two hits.
Noah Essary pitched both innings for West Point, striking out three.
The Green Wave (2-7) will face Water Valley at 3:45 p.m. Thursday at the Northeast Mississippi Community College Classic in Booneville.
