The Heritage Academy baseball team shut out Bayou Academy 11-0 in Thursday’s season-opening game at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville.
The Patriots won in five innings on the run rule.
Blayze Berry pitched three innings, and Cole Ketchum pitched two. Each pitcher struck out five hitters.
KJ Smith drove in three runs, and Banks Hyde drove in two.
Berry led the Patriots with three hits. Ketchum and Davis Fitch each had two hits.
Heritage Academy will play at Columbus High School at 7 p.m. Monday.
