Both the Columbus Christian Academy boys and girls basketball teams were crowned district champions Thursday night in De Kalb.
The Rams boys beat district tournament host Kemper Academy 69-40 to achieve the feat. Lawson Studdard had 19 points, Jonathan Peal had 16, and Dakota Shaw had 14.
For the Rams girls, CC DeVos led the way with 19 points in a 58-35 win over Hebron Christian School. Kylie Emerson scored 13, and Morgan Whitten scored nine.
Columbus Christian will host the MAIS Class 2A north state tournament beginning Tuesday.
Heritage Academy boys 83, Leake Academy 36
MERIDIAN — The Heritage Academy boys team routed Leake Academy 83-36 in Thursday’s district tournament game at Lamar School in Meridian.
Reid Huskison and Hank Greene each scored 11 points to pace the Patriots.
Heritage Academy will play Starkville Academy at 6:45 p.m. Saturday.
Starkville Academy boys 51, Lamar School 42
MERIDIAN — The Starkville Academy boys beat Lamar School 51-42 on Thursday in the district tournament to set up a meeting with Heritage Academy in the district title game.
Jawon Yarbrough led the Volunteers with 16 points and added six rebounds and four steals. George Delp and Randall Futral each scored nine points.
Starkville Academy girls 41, Heritage Academy 27
MERIDIAN — The Starkville Academy girls got the best of rival Heritage Academy in Tuesday’s game in the district tournament in Meridian.
Lillee Alpe led the way for the Vols with 14 points in a 41-27 win. Caroline Wood scored seven, Meri Laci Archer and Abby O’Neal each scored six, and Fallon Parker had five.
Sydney Adair scored 11 points for Heritage Academy, and Bailey Harris had eight.
Heritage Academy will face host Lamar School at 3 p.m. Saturday.
Noxubee County girls 52, West Point 33
WEST POINT — The Noxubee County girls beat West Point 52-33 on Thursday in West Point.
Na’Kailya Mason led the Tigers with 15 points. Aadijah Williams scored 11, and Jakeia Walker had eight.
