Ryan Leach scored the other goal for the Yellow Jackets (7-4).
Starkville will travel to face Germantown on Friday.
Caledonia girls 3, Pontotoc 0
CALEDONIA — The Caledonia girls soccer team beat Pontotoc 3-0 in Monday’s home match
Jane Claire scored twice for the Confederates (11-1-1), and Lauren Brown scored once.
Caledonia will host Itawamba Agricultural on Friday.
Heritage Academy boys 5, Lamar School 0
MERIDIAN — Jonathan Swartz had a hat trick for the Heritage Academy boys in a 5-0 win over Lamar School on Monday in Meridian.
Swartz scored in the third minute, the 51st minute and the 68th minute of Monday’s match. Noel Fisher converted a penalty kick in the 14th minute, and Todd Sharp scored the Patriots’ fifth goal in the 71st minute.
“All of the kids played very well, and I am proud of them in their win last night,” Heritage Academy coach Joe Asadi said. “(It) was a great win to start the week.”
The Patriots will play Jackson Prep at 11 a.m. Saturday and Hartfield at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson Prep Tournament.

STARKVILLE — The Starkville Academy girls beat Oak Hill Academy 62-29 on Monday in Starkville.
Caroline Wood and Lillee Alpe each scored 15 points for the Volunteers, and Fallon Parker scored 12 points.
Starkville Academy will host Lamar School today.
Starkville Academy boys 42, Oak Hill Academy 40
STARKVILLE — The Starkville Academy boys held off Oak Hill Academy 42-40 in Monday’s home game.
Jawon Yarbrough scored 18 points for the Volunteers, Dre Frazier had nine, and Randall Futral had eight.
Daniel Harrington led the Raiders with 15 points.
