WEST POINT — Lucy Sharp scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Heritage Academy girls basketball team to a 45-33 win at Oak Hill Academy on Tuesday in West Point.
The Patriots led 23-17 at the half and pulled away for their second victory over the Raiders this season.
On the boys side, the Raiders notched a two-point victory over the Patriots, payback for the two-point win Heritage Academy handed Oak Hill last Monday in Columbus. The Pats had led 21-20 at halftime.
Heritage Academy will travel to face Tishomingo County on Thursday. The girls game will start at 6 p.m., and the boys game will start at 7:30 p.m.
Noxubee County boys 49, Newton 43
MACON — Montreal Chandler scored 15 points to lead the Noxubee County boys basketball team to a 49-43 home win over Newton on Tuesday.
Samuel Sledge scored 11 points for the Tigers, and Jadakiss Williams had 10. Austin McCloud and Darnavious Lockett each scored six.
The Tigers boys team will face Calhoun City at the Okolona Classic on Saturday.
Newton girls 45, Noxubee County 41
MACON — The Noxubee County girls team came up short, 45-41, in Tuesday’s home game against Newton.
Carenciuna Owens had 10 points to lead the Tigers. Zacaree Rupert and Aadijah Williams each scored nine. Jakeia Walker scored six and led the team in rebounds with six. Aaliyah Brandy scored five points, and Kirsten Barnett scored two.
The Tigers will travel to face New Hope at 6 p.m. Monday.
