PEARL — New Hope track and field had seven athletes place at the Mississippi High School Activities Association Class 5A state meet on Wednesday at the Woody Barnett Track and Field Complex.
Six of those athletes represented the girls team, starting with the 3,200-meter relay team of Kadyn Bell, Madison Taylor, Megan Neeb and DeAireal Williams.
They had the highest finish for the Trojans of any event at states, placing second in the relay with a time of 10:33.61. Neeb also placed fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:36.55.
New Hope also had four other top seven finishes overall.
Those include two sixth place finishes from Je’Kerria Ivy in the 100-meter hurdles and Jakayla Smith in the 300-meter hurdles, and two seventh place finishes from Williams in the 400-meter dash and RJ Cunningham in discus.
Cunningham was the lone New Hope boys athlete to place at states.
