GULF SHORES – New Hope baseball split a pair of games at the Gulf Shores Classic, losing its first game of the day, 6-5, against Pryor, but bouncing back with a 13-0 mercy-rule win over Paul Bryant (Ala.) in game two.
The Trojans; (8-4) showing against Paul Bryant (Ala.) was spread pretty evenly, with Drew Hudgins, Connor Lewis, and Hayden Dodson each driving in a pair of RBIs. Caiden Chain had a great day overall, recording a pair of hits in each game.
New Hope has two more games in Gulf Shores Classic, continuing Tuesday against Madison County.

BILOXI – Starkville dropped its second game of the season on Monday, losing to Columbia Academy, 12-7, at the Battle at the Beach in Biloxi.
There are still two more games to play in the Spring break tournament, with the Yellow Jackets (6-2) taking on Southaven in their next game on Tuesday
