Mississippi State’s bustling quarterback room just got a little less crowded.
Redshirt freshman Daniel Greek announced Sunday night he would enter the transfer portal after two years in Starkville, in which he saw no game action.
“To my teammates, thank you for being my brothers and encouraging me to give my all for the Maroon and White,” Greek said in a social media post. “I love you all and it has been an honor competing together.
“To the MSU fans, thank you for welcoming me and making me a part of the Bulldog family.”
Greek, a product of Liberty Christian School in Argyle, Texas, was a three-star recruit in the class of 2021.
But he was buried on the depth chart in each of his first two seasons.
Junior Will Rogers, redshirt freshman Sawyer Robertson and graduate student Chance Lovertich all got game snaps in 2022 while Greek did not.
Next year, Mississippi State is set to bring in Tennessee high school quarterback Chris Parson, adding another face to the quarterback room.
