STARKVILLE — The Starkville High School girls basketball team edged New Hope in a 52-51 decision Friday.
Zariyah Edwards scored 20 points to lead the Yellow Jackets.
On the boys side, Starkville clobbered New Hope 74-38.
Starkville will play Tuesday at Greenwood.
New Hope’s next game is Tuesday at Neshoba Central.

Columbus 59, Okolona 14, Friday
OKOLONA — The Columbus girls dominated Okolona 59-14 on the road Friday night.
Two Falcons had double-doubles in the win. Kiara Rieves had 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jakiya Lewis had 11 points and 11 boards.
Columbus will host Starkville on Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy 41, Oak Hill Academy 38, Friday
WEST POINT — The Columbus Christian Academy girls took down Oak Hill Academy on the road Friday, 41-38.
Faith Yeates had 16 points to lead the Rams. Satavia Watkins had 11 points, and Carrie Kinard scored six.
Mary Beth Briggs led Oak Hill with 12 points. Harley Vaughn added eight, and Raylee Craven and Claire Henson each had six.
Columbus Christian will take on Calhoun Academy on the road Monday.

Caledonia 68, Shannon 39, Friday
SHANNON — The Caledonia boys opened district play with a 68-39 road win at Shannon.
KJ Barnes led Caledonia (7-2) with 14 points. Quez Barker scored 12, and JD Dumas and Mason Godsey each had 10.
The Cavaliers will take on Hamilton on the road Monday.
Columbus Christian Academy 60, Oak Hill Academy 53, Friday
WEST POINT — Columbus Christian finished a sweep of Oak Hill with a 60-53 win in the boys game Friday night.
Caleb McCarter led the Rams with 18 points. Joe Michael Edwards scored 16, and Garrett Weathers had 11.
For Oak Hill, Collins Trolio scored 21 points, and John Ross Craven had 19.
