The Starkville High School girls swim team finished fifth of 14 schools at MHSAA Class II championships on Friday at the Tupelo Aquatic Center.
The Yellow Jackets boys were ninth out of 14 in team competition with 18 points. The girls finished with 31 points.
For the boys team, Elvin Sabanadzovic won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.84.
He also won the 100-yard freestyle at 47.64 seconds.
On the girls side, Cate Nobles was third in the girls 100-yard breaststroke at 1:10.22.
West Boren was fourth in the 50-yard freestyle at 25.65 seconds.
Starkville finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 2:00.77 and fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay at 1:47.86.
MSMS boys place 10th in Class I
The Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science boys swim team finished 10th out of 16 teams at Class I championships on Saturday in Tupelo.
Dylan Wiley was third in the boys 100-yard butterfly at 56.56 seconds.
Rushyendranath Reddy Nalamalapu was fourth in the boys 50-yard freestyle at 23.30. He finished fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:07.13.
On the girls side, the Blue Waves tied for 14th as a team out of 17 schools.
Maddie Brain finished fourth in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:06.87.
