MACON — Noxubee County scored a season-high in points this season with a dominant 63-0 shutout victory over Hatley on Friday night.
Noxubee County snapped a three-game losing streak, getting back to the .500 mark with the victory in a game the Tigers simply dominated from start to finish.
Noxubee County’s next game is on the road against Kemper County at 7 p.m. Friday.
Magnolia Heights 24, Starkville Academy 14
SENATOBIA — Slow starts seem to be Starkville Academy’s Achilles’ heel. The Volunteers fought back late but lost on the road against Magnolia Heights, 24-14, on Friday night.
Trailing 17-0 heading into the fourth quarter, the Volunteers (4-4) were able to score twice, but a fourth-quarter touchdown from the Chiefs secured the victory for Mag Heights.
Starkville Academy takes on Pillow Academy at home in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy 62, Humphreys Academy 48
BELZONI — Columbus Christian Academy ends a two-game winning streak with an impressive 62-48 victory over Humphreys Academy on the road on Friday night.
The Rams (4-3) set a new season-high for points scored in a game, winning a shootout against the Rebels. They’ve scored 50 or more points in three of their four wins this season.
Garrett Weathers ran for a 39-yard score and threw two touchdown passes for the Rams: a 12-yard strike to Luke Phillips in the first quarter and a 41-yard scoring throw to Grant Robinson in the third.
Drake Shaw had a 95-yard interception return for a touchdown and returned a kickoff 55 yards for another score.
Kory Davis also had a pick-six of 35 yards. Jonah Harrison ran for a 51-yard score, and McCory Humphres ran for a 46-yard touchdown.
Harrison and Beau Kemp led the Rams with 7 1/2 tackles, while Shaw had 6 1/2 and Davis had 5 1/2.
Columbus Christian Academy will host Manchester Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
DeSoto (Ark.) 46, Hebron Christian 0
PHEBA — For the second time this season, Hebron Christian was shut out, losing 46-0 to DeSoto (Ark.) on Friday night.
The Eagles (0-7) have scored just 52 points this season, giving up an average of 47 points per game to opponents.
Hebron Christian travels to play Kemper Academy in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Tuscaloosa Christian (Ala.) 64, Victory Christian Academy 30
COTTONDALE, Ala. — Victory Christian Academy dropped a slugfest on Friday night against Tuscaloosa Christian (Alabama), 64-30.
It was a tough one for the Eagles (0-4), unable to keep up with a potent attack from Tuscaloosa Christian. VCA is still searching for its first win of the season.
Victory Christian will play Cornerstone Christian (Ala.) in its next game at home at 7 p.m. Friday.
Aliceville (Ala.) 48, Lamar County (Ala.) 21
VERNON, Ala. — Aliceville (Alabama) improved to 3-0 in region play with a 48-21 victory over Lamar County (Alabama) on Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets (6-1) are now riding a five-game winning streak, scoring at least 40 points or more in each of those five games. They led 28-7 at half, dominating from start to finish.
Aliceville will host Cold Springs (Alabama) in its next game at 7 p.m. Friday.
Jackson Academy (Ala.) 46, Pickens Academy (Ala.) 0
CARROLLTON, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Alabama), facing an unbeaten Jackson Academy (Alabama) team, couldn’t keep up, losing 46-0 on Friday night.
From the jump, the Pirates (2-4) were just overpowered by the Eagles, who improved to 7-0 on the season with the win.
