Mississippi State softball will welcome Alabama to Nusz Park during the 2023 season.
The Crimson Tide highlights the Bulldogs’ 2023 Southeastern Conference schedule, which was released Thursday. Alabama comes to Starkville from April 14-16, part of Super Bulldog Weekend.
MSU also hosts South Carolina, Arkansas and Kentucky. The series with the Gamecocks opens SEC play from March 17-19, a week after 10 of 13 SEC teams begin league competition.
The defending SEC champion Razorbacks visit Nusz Park from March 31-April 2, and MSU’s final home series is April 28-30 against the Wildcats.
Mississippi State takes on Georgia in its first road series from March 24-26 and plays at Texas A&M from April 7-9.
A trip to LSU from April 21-23 will mark the SEC’s “All for Alex” weekend, when the conference’s teams will wear teal to honor Alex Wilcox, the Bulldogs player who died of ovarian cancer in 2018 after her freshman season at MSU. Mississippi State coach Samantha Ricketts and LSU’s Beth Torina created the “All for Alex” weekend, and the Bulldogs’ trip to Baton Rouge is their first since Wilcox’s death.
Mississippi State closes the regular season May 5-7 at Auburn. The SEC tournament is May 9-13 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The Bulldogs are coming off their first NCAA Super Regional appearance ever, which came after taking down No. 2 overall seed Florida State in regional play. MSU fell to Arizona in two games in Super Regionals.
