MACON — Noxubee County continued its winning ways in 2022, dominating Amanda Elzy on Friday night, 40-6.
The Tigers (2-0) have outscored their opponents, 91-21, through its first two games of the season, following up last Friday’s 51-15 season-opening victory against Philadelphia with this performance against the Panthers.
Noxubee County will travel for its next game to play West Point at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Southaven 28, Columbus 0
SOUTHAVEN — Columbus was defeated on the road on Friday night by Southaven, 28-0.
The Falcons (0-2) have now been shut out in consecutive games to start the 2022 season and have been outscored a combined 56-0 in those games.
Columbus will travel on the road for its next game, playing Louisville at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Amory 35, Caledonia 0
AMORY — Caledonia has started out its 2022 season with back-to-back losses after being shut out by Amory on Friday night, 35-0.
Unlike the first three quarters or so last Friday against New Hope, Caledonia (0-2) struggled to find any offense against Amory and was overpowered from the start.
Caledonia will return home next week for its home opener against Holly Springs at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
West Lowndes 38, Okolona 22
OKOLONA — West Lowndes recorded its first win of the season on Friday night, defeating Okolona on the road, 38-22.
The Panthers (1-1) took an 8-0 lead in the first quarter, but shined in the second half, outscoring Okolona 30-22, doing just enough to secure a comfortable 16-point victory.
West Lowndes heads back home for its home opener next week, taking on Tupelo Christian Prep at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Starkville Academy 39, Leake Academy 7
MADDEN — Starkville Academy is now riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Leake Academy on Friday night, 39-7.
The Volunteers (3-1) had their best defensive performance by far this season, giving up 10 points or less for the first time since defeating Lamar, 17-7, in the first round of the postseason last October.
Starkville Academy looks to continue its winning ways at home next week against French Camp Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Columbus Christian Academy 52, Calhoun Academy 22
STEENS — Columbus Christian has found its stride in the past two weeks, defeating Calhoun Academy 52-22 on Friday night.
The Rams (2-1) attacked and dominated in all facets of the game, turning last season’s 1-2 record through three games into a winning record so far.
Columbus Christian travels next week to play Kemper Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
West Memphis Christian (Ark.) 44, Hebron Christian 14
WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. — Hebron Christian was defeated on the road on Friday against West Memphis Christian (Ark.), 44-14.
The Eagles (0-3) have scored less than 20 points in each of their first three games this season, being outscored 154-34 as opponents have scored an average of 51.3 points per game on them so far.
Hebron Christian comes back home for the first time in two weeks to host Calhoun Academy at 7 p.m. Friday.
Pickens Academy (Ala.) 34, Southern Academy (Ala.) 28
GREENSBORO, Ala. — Pickens Academy (Ala.) got in the win column for the first time this season, defeating Southern Academy (Ala.), 34-28, on Friday night.
The Pirates (1-1) led 18-14 at halftime and added on a touchdown and successful two-point conversion in each of the final two quarters.
Pickens Academy will travel to Butler, Alabama, next week to play Patrician Academy (Ala.) at 7 p.m. Friday.
