GRENADA — Starkville High School volleyball defeated Grenada in Monday’s away match, 3-0.
Set scores were 25-7, 25-21 and 26-24, with the first set being the most dominant performance from the Yellow Jackets so far in a set this season.
Starkville improved to 3-6 with the win and will travel to face Choctaw County at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Bayou Academy 11, Starkville Academy 0, five innings
CLEVELAND – Starkville Academy softball lost to Bayou Academy, 11-0, in five innings in Monday’s road game.
The Lady Volunteers were mercy-ruled as Bayou scored three runs in the fifth inning to seal the win.
Starkville Academy falls to 3-3 on the season and heads back home to host Hebron Christian at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
Kemper Academy 8, Columbus Christian Academy 0, two innings
STEENS — Columbus Christian Academy forfeited its season opener on Monday at home, losing 8-0 to Kemper Academy.
The game was called after two innings due to lightning, but with Kemper leading big early on, they ended up earning the win.
CCA fell to 0-1 on the season and will travel to play Calhoun Academy at 7 p.m. Aug. 23.
