An already busy Friday got even busier for the Mississippi State baseball team.
The Bulldogs landed Mercer transfer outfielder Bill Knight on Friday evening, just hours after Texas reliever Aaron Nixon pledged to transfer to MSU.
Knight will come to Starkville for his final year of eligibility after leading the Bears in batting average, slugging percentage and RBIs in 2022. He posted a triple-slash line of .337/.415/.642, hitting 17 home runs and driving in 64 runs.
The junior from Perkins, Georgia, will become the second Mercer hitter to transfer to Mississippi State. In 2022, second baseman RJ Yeager led the Bulldogs in hitting, slugging percentage, home runs and RBIs.
Knight joins Nixon, New Orleans second baseman Amani Larry, Ball State pitcher Nate Dohm, Samford outfielder Colton Ledbetter and Memphis pitcher Landon Gartman in transferring to MSU this offseason.
