The Columbus Soccer Organization announced that Brant Smith of New Hope High School is a recipient of the CSO Collegiate Scholarship, while Reagan Greenhaw and Coen Velek had their scholarships renewed.
Greenhaw is a student at Meridian Community College, while Velek attends Mississippi State.
The scholarship is supported by donations made in the memory of Marolyn Albertson, grandmother of Columbus United coach Dave Albertson; the support of an anonymous local business; and the sponsorship of Bank First.
Players who played with CSO at U15 or above are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which can be applied to any educational expenses after high school including college, trade school and certificate programs.
