Mississippi State’s football game against Alabama will kick off at 6 p.m. Oct. 16, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.
The game will be broadcasted on ESPN from Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville.
The Bulldogs (3-2, 1-1 SEC) are off this week after defeating then-No. 15 Texas A&M 26-22 at Kyle Field in College Station, Texas. Alabama (5-0, 2-0) is coming off a 42-21 win over then-No. 12 Ole Miss.
Mississippi State won its first two games, defeating Louisiana Tech 35-34 on Sept. 4 and beating now-No. 23 North Carolina State 24-10 a week later. But the Bulldogs fell to Memphis 31-29 and to LSU 28-25 in consecutive weeks before pulling the upset of the Aggies.
Alabama beat Miami, Mercer, now-No. 20 Florida and Southern Miss before dispatching the Rebels in Tuscaloosa.
Rogers shares in two awards
Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers shared in a pair of awards after his performance Saturday against Texas A&M.
Rogers was named SEC co-offensive player of the week Monday and was also named one of eight Manning Award Stars of the Week.
The sophomore from Brandon went 46 of 59 passing for 408 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He ranks third in the country in passing yards and completion percentage.
Alabama running back Brian Robinson and Auburn quarterback Bo Nix shared the SEC weekly award with Rogers. Seven other quarterbacks around the country were also named Manning Award Stars this week.
