Mississippi State will host LSU on Saturday, but a trip to Baton Rouge will open Southeastern Conference play for the Bulldogs in 2022.
The SEC released next season’s schedule Tuesday night, and MSU will travel to face the Tigers on Sept. 17, 2022, in the conference opener for both schools.
The Bulldogs also have road conference matchups with Kentucky (Oct. 15), Alabama (Oct. 22) and Ole Miss (Thanksgiving, Nov. 24).
They’ll go to Tucson to face Arizona on Sept. 10 in the second game of the season, a date that had already been set.
So had the Bulldogs’ other three nonconference games, all at Davis Wade Stadium: the season opener against Memphis on Sept. 3, a date with Bowling Green on Sept. 24 and a contest with East Tennessee State on Nov. 19.
In SEC play, Mississippi State will host Texas A&M and Arkansas on Oct. 1 and Oct. 8. Auburn and Georgia will visit on Nov. 5 and Nov. 12, respectively.
Mississippi State’s bye week is set for Week 9, giving the Bulldogs an Oct. 29 off date.
Texas and Oklahoma are currently set to join the SEC in 2025, though if either or both arrive as early as next year, the schedule would theoretically be subject to change.
